Scheduling Monologues-November

November - scheduling monologues.
Click on the calendar for a larger image to view what dates/times may be possibilities for you.

MOVIE UPDATE:
Priority This month-

*The movie will continue to be worked on through editing and additional scenes where needed.

*Actors who have participated in the film will have the option available to do the short 1-3 minute monologue (any scene of choice from a monologue book with credits given to the author, play, movie, or something the actor has written for him/her self) to be filmed for the DVD .

To give you a better idea of what you may decide to do for the 1-3 minute skit, here are some suggestions, considerations, more info.

1) consider what you would like audiences or film executives to view

2) this may be an opportunity to create a short written act for yourself to express your style and range as an actor (emotions, expressions, ...)

3) this could be an opportunity to play a character similar to what you might wish to play for a future film or you may want to try and play a challenging character (completely opposite to what you would typically play)

4) You may bring another actor along if you wish to show responses to dialogue between two people.

5) Or you may simply do the monologue alone to highlight your own singular acting skills.

6) If you do not wish to act for the camera you have another option to simply describe who you are as an actor and what you are looking to do (parts you may wish to play in future films or preferences you may have), this might be an opportunity to allow you discuss your favorite movies that inspired you to get into acting or simply discuss something about yourself that would get an executive's or casting director's attention.

7) The monologue or dialogue may be of any genre: Drama, Comedy, Thriller...

8) You have a choice whether your portion of the monologue or sketch be seen on the completed Film's DVD for audiences and film executives (everyone) or film executives only.
At the time of filming your sketch you will select one or the other and the footage will be organized accordingly. This will be explained in writing.

The idea behind giving actors this choice involves the concept that actors may wish for only film executives to see the sample of their talent and not the masses of a public audience who may only be interested in relevant movie and comedic material.

That would be another aspect for an actor who wishes to do the monologue -consider which group your act/monologue is going to appeal to since the film is a comedy adventure attracting audiences who are going to be interested in all talent related to comedy-this does not mean , however, that film executives will feel the same way--their eyes may be open to all talent of all genres.

I hope the above information gives you a better idea of the possibilities that exist for actors: doing the monologue or simply describing your interests in acting -being filmed for the DVD.
